Meet The Family

Jason Betts
Founder/CEO
My name is Jason Betts, owner of Family Landman. My wife and I got married in 2013 and we have three beautiful children. They have a sober father to look up to because I gave my life to Christ and started following Him seriously in 2012. Faith has played an important role in our family.
I graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree focusing my studies in Mass Communication in 2010. In 2014, I received my real estate license from Hondros School of Business in Columbus, OH. In 2016, I received a Registered Professional Landman certification from the America Association of Professional Landmen.
In the last ten years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the largest Real Estate and Oil and Gas brokerages in the country; but nothing compares to the feeling I get when I bat for the mineral owner and get to help them achieve more value from their oil and gas rights.

Alexis Betts
Human Resources/Admin
I work behind the scenes managing human resources and payroll. Asthe wife of Jason Betts, I stay at home part time with our 3 children and work part time for Family Landman. My background includes 7 years in Human Resources & Admin. Additionally my experience includes Land work such as genealogy, title research and leasing. As a native to the Ohio Valley, I'm proud to see Family Landman advocating for local land owners.

Richard Coppolino
Senior Accountant
Richard Coppolino, MBA (New York) has worked in the rights management business for seven years. He has worked at three record labels, and has had hands-on experience with royalty accounting, licensing, and royalty audits.

“When I met Jason and the team in March, I was captivated by their mission to fight for stakeholders who might be getting taken advantage of. While I had no oil/gas experience, I have a lot of royalty accounting experience, and I strongly align with their pursuit in what is fair and right. Jason and the team are building something great here, and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Meryl Lowe
Senior Accountant
Meryl Lowe is an Accounting Consultant for Family Landman. With over 35 years of financial and accounting experience, Meryl is proficient at navigating complex databases, spreadsheets and statements for mineral owners. She finds it rewarding to analyze a complex royalty statement and find unpaid royalties for the mineral owner. After working several accounts, it became apparent to her that there was a need for an experienced and knowledgeable mineral owner advocate who could perform this service at a reasonable cost. Meryl is proud to be part of Family Landman helping mineral owners administer the terms of their mineral rights contracts.
